Mondial Tornianti

First weekend in September, every two years

The Mondial Tornianti is the event/competition during which the greatest master potters from all over Italy and the world challenge each other on the potter’s wheel to create new works. The Mondial Tornianti is a historic event in the city of Faenza, and continues to be organised every two years during the Argillà Italia event.

The prizes awarded include World Technical Masters Champion (potters compete in moulding the widest bowl and the tallest cylinder using the same amount of clay in a set time), World Aesthetic Masters Champion, Special Youth Prize and the ‘Competition in the Dark’.

Since 2017, it has been developed also the “Mondial Tornianti in Tour”, a travelling event in Italy among the Cities of Ancient Ceramic Tradition that are members of AiCC.

Since 2022, the event has been co-organised by the ‘Mondial Tornianti Gino Geminiani’ Association.
