Ifigenia Papadopulu was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. After finishing her studies at the classical high school, she attended a ceramics course in her home town while working in various workshops as a potter and decorator.
In 1986, she came to Italy and attended two-year specialisation courses at the ‘G. Ballardini’ Ceramic Art Institute in Faenza, graduating in Traditional Ceramics Technology and Ceramic Restoration Art. In 2007 and 2008 she attended sculpture and raku courses at the ‘T. Minardi’ School of Design and Plastics.
Ifigenia Papadopulu’s ceramics and sculptures are unique and original objects. She uses different types of clays and glazes to create her works. The shapes are harmoniously coated with intense colours, composing a dreamy and joyful world in perpetual motion. Miniatures and jewellery follow the general lines of her production.
