Ivana Anconelli was born in Faenza and graduated from Istituto d’Arte per la Ceramica “G. Ballardini”, student of Angelo Biancini, Carlo Zauli, Cesare Boschi and Alfonso Leoni, before completing her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
During her career, she was Bruno Munari’s collaborator and, together with him, she codified the Bruno Munari Original Method® , designed for different types of students, from children to professionals.
Ivana Anconelli is the owner of the Mabilab workshop, where she creates ceramics with captivating textures, as well as reproducing exact copies of 15th- and 16th-century plates and tankards from the Faenza tradition, which are also conserved at the International Ceramics Museum in Faenza.
