Rolando Giovannini trained at Istituto d’Arte per la Ceramica “G. Ballardini” in Faenza, then continued his studies at the University of Bologna, in Geological Sciences, and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, specialising in decoration.
A ceramics expert and design theorist, he is the author of essays, articles and three books on the subject of design and decoration for school and academic use.
His works are exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and in the Shin-Kobe underground, at the Kobe High Speed Railway Station in Japan.
