New Opportunity in Jinju (South Korea) for University Students Living in Faenza or Enrolled at Universities in Faenza.

As part of the activities connected to the City of Faenza’s membership in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, a particularly valuable source of opportunities comes from invitations to participate in events and initiatives organized by other Creative Cities within the network. These opportunities are reserved for member cities and are offered not only in Italy, but across the world.

The Network serves as an international platform to strengthen cooperation among participating cities, recognizing creativity as a strategic driver of sustainable development in economic, social, cultural, and environmental terms. By joining the Network, cities commit to sharing best practices, developing partnerships to promote creativity and cultural industries, enhancing participation in cultural life, and integrating culture into urban development strategies and plans.

In this context, the city of Jinju (South Korea) will host the Jinju International Youth Creativity Development Camp from 21 to 26 August 2026, an intensive summer program for university students focused on the development and exchange of cultural and creative skills. Alongside 10 participants from universities in Jinju, an additional 10 places are reserved for university students from UNESCO Creative Cities.
The program includes lectures, workshops, and hands-on activities dedicated to international cultural cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and the exploration of Jinju’s outstanding traditions in the field of arts and crafts, including silk and metalworking, the production of ornamental knives, and fine wooden furniture. Like Faenza, Jinju belongs to the “Crafts and Folk Art” cluster of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

From an organizational standpoint, travel expenses to Jinju will be the responsibility of the selected student, while all costs related to participation in the program, including accommodation, will be covered by the City of Jinju.

Each UNESCO Creative City may submit one candidate, who will then be considered in a selection process carried out by the program organizers. For this reason, the Municipality of Faenza invites university students who are either residents of Faenza or enrolled at universities in Faenza to express their interest in participating by completing the application form and sending it, together with their Curriculum Vitae, to faenzaunesco@gmail.com no later than 10:00 a.m. on 15 June 2026.

The Culture, Tourism, Sport and International Relations Department of the Municipality of Faenza will carry out a preliminary selection process and will subsequently nominate one Faenza-based student to the City of Jinju as the official candidate for the program.
